4:34 pm ET Saratoga (Race 7) – Obrigada 3/1 (2-star play)

Race 7 at Saratoga is a $70,000 Starter Allowance which is taking place over a seven furlong trip on the dirt surface and I like the filly in gate ten, Obrigada, who has won her last three starts and is improving nicely.

The penny has dropped for Linda Rice’s three-year-old who impressed in a recent four furlong breeze at Belmont Park and will be tough to beat.

5:10 pm ET Saratoga (Race 8) – Consultant 12/1 (1-star play)

This is a hotly contested Starter Allowance with the likes of My Sea Cottage and Kingfish Stevens to be feared but one who can go well at a price is Consultant who will come on a good amount from his fourth placed effort in an Allowance at Laurel Park last month.

This son of Malibu Moon is a two-time winner over this mile trip on the turf at Laurel Park and represents value against the market leaders on his first start at Saratoga.

5:44 pm ET Saratoga (Race 9) – Dancing Diana 6/1 (1-star play)

The Grade 3 Schuylerville Stakes is a fiercely comPetitive affair for two-year-old fillies over a sprint trip of six furlongs and all of these have potential and remain un-exposed so it’s a tricky one to solve but I was impressed with the way Dancing Diana did it on debut at Delaware Park last month.

She won by a widening seven and a half length margin and her sire Bolt D’oro was a Grade 1 winner at two so this filly could be useful.

6:18 pm ET Saratoga (Race 10) – Charisse 8/1 (1-star play)

Mark Hennig’s Charisse has been finding life tough in Maiden Special Weights in recent months but she has shown signs of ability and will go well on her first start in Maiden Claiming company.

Jose Lezcano’s mount has shown good early speed before tiring late against better opposition so if she can get out and into a prominent position early from her good draw then she could take some catching.
