5:15 pm Belmont Park (Race 9) – Famous Gent 10/1 (1-star play)

Race 9 on a Belmont Park card full of quality is a hotly contested $95,000 Allowance over seven furlongs on the turf with the likes of Appraise and Inflation Nation to be feared but I like Famous Gent who was running on well over six furlongs last time out.

Tyler Gaffalione’s mount has been in good form in 2023 and should get a fast pace to aim at here from which he can hit the board at double figure odds.

5:49 pm Belmont Park (Race 10) – The Foxes 7/2 (2-star play)

British trainer Andrew Balding recently quoted that his charge, The Foxes, would be going for the Eclipse Stakes at Sandown today but instead connections have decided to have a go at the Grade 1 Belmont Derby Invitational.

This tough son of Churchill was last seen finishing fifth in the Epsom Derby where he failed to stay so this drop back to ten furlongs will suit and he will also be suited to the style of racing in America.

6:21 pm Belmont Park (Race 11) – Dazzling Blue 5/1 (1-star play)

A field of eight three-year-old Fillies are set to go to post for the $175,000 Grade 3 Victory Ride Stakes which is taking place over an extended six furlongs on the dirt course and I really like the unbeaten Dazzling Blue.

Brad Cox’s Juddmonte owned filly has won her first three starts by a combined total distance of sixteen and a quarter lengths and she could be destined for the top.

6:53 pm Belmont Park (Race 12) – Kern River 9/2 (1-star play)

The finale at Belmont Park is an open looking Maiden Claimer in which a case can be made for a good number of this field but none more so than the colt in stall five, Kern River, who will find this easier than his debut run here.

He was a weakening sixth in a Maiden Special Weight over seven furlongs but showed up well and will come on a good amount from that so he should run a big race.
