Hong Kong’s Central is About to Undergo a Luxury Transformation
Hongkong Land announced a transformation plan called “Tomorrow’s CENTRAL” for Landmark, promising a world-class destination for luxury retail, Lifestyle and Business.
A total of over US$1 billion (HKD$7.8 billion) will be spent to transform one of the world’s most crowded and prosperous Business districts. Hongkong Land revealed it will spend around US$400 million (HKD$3.1 billion) on the revamp, while long-standing tenants Cartier, Chanel, Dior, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, Prada, Saint Laurent, Sotheby’s, Tiffany &Co, and Van Cleef & Arpels are committing to US$600 million (HKD$4.7 billion) in investments.
As a significant part of the upgrade, Landmark‘s luxury tenants, who are some the world’s most prestigious brands, are expanding to more than double their footprint reaching over 220,000 square feet. The brands are joining forces to redefine the boundaries of luxury with a captivating jewellery and watch boulevard, new shopping maisons and immersive art spaces. These expansions will spread across Landmark Atrium, Alexandra, Prince’s and Chater, from Queen’s Road all the way through to Chater Road.
At the reimagined Landmark, shoppers will have convenient access to 10 world-class luxury maison destinations, each ranging between two and ten floors. The gastronomic profile of the area will also be enhanced, with over 30 new restaurant concepts planned for the district.
The transformation of Landmark’s buildings will take place across the next three years, starting off with the unveiling of the upgraded Central Kingdom, Sotheby’s exhibition and retail space at Landmark Charter, that will open in July 2024. During the reconstruction process, all Landmark stores will remain open and active.
This exciting evolution of Landmark represents a significant milestone that will reshape the future of shopping in Hong Kong. As a brand synonymous with elegance and refinement, Landmark’s transformation will undoubtedly redefine how luxury is perceived in the city.
