Former Celtic Coach Stuns Clement’s Rangers
Rangers were left red-faced in their pre-season friendly against Birmingham City, where former Celtic assistant manager Chris Davies orchestrated a 2-1 victory. Davies, who made a habit of besting Rangers during his time at Celtic under Brendan Rodgers, proved once again that old habits die hard.
It was almost poetic—Davies, now at the helm of Birmingham, replicating the brilliance that frequently left Rangers second-best in Glasgow Derby clashes. The Blues, under his savvy management, outplayed and outclassed Rangers, offering a familiar taste of frustration for the Ibrox faithful.
Phillipe Clement, Rangers’ current manager, was handed a lesson by Davies, whose experience in dominating Rangers shone through. The Birmingham side looked more organised, more driven, and quite frankly, more adept at playing the kind of Football that wins matches.

Davie’s only took charge of Birmingham this summer. The Englishman spent a year at Spurs with another former Celt, Ange Postecoglou who also boasts a very tidy record over the Ibrox side
We wish Davies and Birmingham the best for this season.
