Joe Hart Sends Message to Departing Celtic Goalkeeper
After weeks of speculation, Benjamin Siegrist finally departed Celtic last night, signing for FC Rapid Bucurest.
The Swiss goalkeeper links up with former Hoops captain and manager Neil Lennon in Romania. He can’t wait to work with the Parkhead legend.
With Celtic, Siegrist managed to conjure up just two appearances in all comPetitions. He played second fiddle to Joe Hart throughout his spell at the club after joining on a free from Dundee United in 2022.
To his move to Rapid, the now retired Hart reacted on Instagram. Commenting on the post which confirmed Siegrist’s transfer, he sent a simple message which read ‘Go on big Benj’:
Despite Hart retiring and Siegrist departing this summer, Celtic are in safe hands in the goalkeeping department.
Kasper Schmeichel remains an elite stopper despite his ripe age of 37, meanwhile, young Viljami Sinisalo is a fantastic prospect who will take the reigns as number one in a year or two.
The acquisitions of the pair from Celtic must be praised, but fans are criticising the club over their lack of signings in other positions.
There are several areas of the squad which need to be strengthened and with just over a month of the transfer window remaining, moves must be made.
