It is awards season and several Celts have already been given acclaim for their efforts throughout the season.

Indeed, last week, the PFA Team of the Year was released in which Liam Scales, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Callum McGregor, and Matt O’Riley were all included.

The nominees for Premiership Player of the Year have not yet been announced but for the lower divisions, they have.

In Scottish League One, there is a name that will intrigue Celtic fans. Calvin Miller, who came through the academy ranks and made five first-team appearances, has been put up for the division’s Player of the Year by his colleagues:

Now at Falkirk, the 26-year-old has been hugely impressive throughout 2023/24. Across all comPetitions, he has made 38 appearances, scoring 11 goals and registering 15 assists from the left side of midfield.

Under John McGlynn, Miller is flying, playing a key role in the Bairns’ triumphant campaign which has seen them win the third tier and thus gain promotion to the Championship.

He never set it alight at Celtic, but it is pleasing to see the Scotland under-21 cap succeed elsewhere and make a career in the Game after coming through at Lennoxtown.
