Expert College Baseball World Series best bets today, 6/22 | Pickswise
The College Baseball World Series has only 3 teams remaining in Omaha, but after tonight, there will only be 2. Florida punched their ticket to the Championship with a victory over TCU on Wednesday, so they are awaiting the winner of tonight’s game. On Thursday , Wake Forest and LSU play a rematch at 7:00 pm ET in what should be one of the best college baseball games of the season.
Let’s dive into my College Baseball World Series best bet for today’s action.

Wake Forest vs LSU Under 10.5 (-106)

Welcome to the best pitching matchup in college baseball. In a win-or-go-home situation, it will be Rhett Lowder for Wake Forest against Paul Skenes of LSU. These two pitchers finished 2nd and 5th in the country in the race for the best ERA this season. The only way that this matchup happened was by LSU forcing an elimination Game with their 5-2 win last night as Wake Forest’s offense continued to be absent. Now, it’s two aces going at it in a must-win Game and yet the total is at 11? Call me confused because I expected it to be closer to 9. I understand that it’s college and metal bats and all that, but Charles Schwab Field has been incredibly pitcher friendly with the deep fences all the way around the outfield. And, as I touched on earlier, the Demon Deacons’ offense has been non-existent so far. They’ve scored 8 runs in 3 Games during the World Series which is far different from their nearly 10 runs per Game average in the regular season. For me holding a Wake Forest futures ticket, I’m slightly crying on the inside, but it’s Omaha, and anything can happen!
Lowder and Skenes both pitched last Saturday in their team’s first Game in Omaha and to no surprise, Wake Forest and LSU won. Lowder was decent against Stanford with 2 runs and 7 hits allowed along with 6 strikeouts in 5.1 innings. It took him 100 pitches, so we knew Lowder was going to be out for at least 4 days. As for Skenes, he dominated a powerful Tennessee lineup. The projected #2 overall pick went 7.2 innings and allowed only 2 runs and 5 hits to go with 12 strikeouts and 1 walk. He was touching triple-digits in almost every pitch in the first inning and mixed in a slider and changeup nicely for put-away pitches too. Honestly, I’m still in disbelief that this total is above 10. Take the under before oddsmakers realize their mistake!
