Despite not featuring regularly under Brendan Rodgers, Enrique Palma believes his son remains focused on improving his performances and securing a place in the team.

According to Enrique, Luis has made the conscious decision to step away from social media in the wake of his struggles, opting to keep his head down and work hard to regain the trust of the Celtic coaching staff.

Speaking about his son’s mentality, he said [Diario Diez via RecordSport]: “I think Luis has made the decision to withdraw from them [social media], but everything will be fine.

“You have to remember that other players are doing very well, as he tells me, ‘Here it’s just work, work and work to earn the manager’s trust again and do things well’ and that’s the mentality he has to see if he grabs.”

Despite a lack of minutes on the pitch, Enrique made it clear that his son is not disheartened.

He pointed out that there is still plenty of Football to play this season, with Celtic’s league campaign, cup comPetitions, and Champions League fixtures providing ample opportunity for Luis to make an impact.

Enrique added: “There is no sadness in him because he knows that the tournaments are just beginning, there are still many league and cup Games to come and six Champions League Games to go.”

Rumours of a potential exit for Palma had surfaced recently, but Enrique was quick to shut down such reports, emphasising his son’s focus on the remainder of the season with Celtic.

CeltsAreHere.com had previously confirmed that there was no truth to these exit reports. Enrique echoed this. “That is false,” he said.

“We shouldn’t stop everything that comes out in social media, many times things are invented there, one should not live on social media.”

While the prospect of a future move isn’t off the table, Enrique emphasised that any departure will depend on his son’s performances and work rate at Celtic: “He will be at Celtic right now and focus on the rest of the year and maybe there will be a sale, but what happens to him will depend on his work.”

As it stands, Luis Palma remains dedicated to earning his place in the Celtic squad. His father’s comments suggest that patience and hard work will be the key to turning his fortunes around at Parkhead.
