The Ghirls made strides last month when they became the maiden Scottish Women’s side to qualify for the comPetition’s group stages, which kick off this evening.

Elena Sadiku’s side defeated Ukrainian outfit FC Vorskla Poltava 3-0 on aggregate in their final qualifier to make the Champions League proper, where they have been drawn in group B alongside FC Twente, Chelsea, and Real Madrid.

Celtic couldn’t be going into their opener against Twente this evening in a better mood.

They came from two goals down to salvage a point away to Rangers last time out and recently announced Hamilton Accies’ New Douglas Park as their new home ground.

They will play for the first time there this evening, hosting Dutch outfit Twente in arguably their most winnable group stage match.

Tickets for the historic match-up are still available on Celtic’s website. They are priced at £12 for adults and £6 for under-16s.

Kick-off this evening is at 8pm, and the Game’s significance is set to be marked by raucous home support, with North Curve Celtic bringing back ‘The Celtic End’ for it.

Fans are set to Travel in their droves to Hamilton tonight and give the Ghirls a hefty Champions League backing.
