Emily in Paris Season 4 Part 2 Ending Explained: Who Does Emily Choose Between Gabriel and Marcello?
Emily in Paris Season 4 Part 2 was released on 12 September 2024 and came with some unexpected twists. While the first half saw Emily Cooper (played by Lily Collins) finally living her much-awaited love story with Gabriel (played by Lucas Bravo), the second half set her off on a Roman holiday and, of course, introduced a new romance. So where do we stand at the ending of Emily in Paris season 4 Part 2? We cover all that and much more.
Part 1 ended with several loose ends:
- Luc’s (played by Bruno Gouery) girlfriend Marianne (played by Laurence Gormezano) was revealed to have been fired as a Michelin inspector. Does that mean Gabriel doesn’t get a star?
- Will Agence Grateau’s going become easy even after the JVMA fiasco?
- And most importantly, now that Camille (played by Camille Razzat) has broken up with Sophie (played by Melia Kreiling), will that draw a wedge between Emily and Gabriel?
Before we get to the ending of Emily in Paris season 4 Part 2, here are the major highlights from the new five episodes and how episode 10 ends.
Spoilers ahead!
All the details about Emily in Paris season 4 Part 2: Plot, ending explained and more
Major plot points of Emily in Paris season 4 Part 2
Though a Parisian Christmas is a dreamy spectacle, for Emily, it was quite the opposite. While she seemed happy rekindling her relationship with Gabriel in the beginning, Emily later felt like the third wheel with Camille around. Hence, just shortly after dating him, she called it quits. And, that did not end well. The second half sets us up for Emily’s adventures in Rome.
Amid all this, Emily meets the ever-so-handsome Marcello Muratori (played by Eugenio Franceschini) on a chance encounter while skiing in the Alps. He happens to be a high-end clothing brand scion in Rome — there we go!
Meanwhile, Mindy (played by Ashley Park) finds a way to fund Eurovision — she has to sing and perform topless at a bar in front of a packed audience. This proves to be a double-edged sword. While the money flows, the new job and her romantic shoot with Benoit (played by Kevin Dias) don’t fit well with Nicolas’ (played by Paul Forman) image as the would-be CEO of JVMA.
After a heated argument, she ends the relationship. Later, though she is disqualified from Eurovision, she gets invited to be a judge on ‘Chinese Popstar’. Life comes full circle indeed.
Meanwhile, Emily’s blossoming interest in Marcello takes her on a Roman holiday (the sights of the city, simply Bellissimo!). However, the growing romance is abruptly halted when Sylvie Grateau (played by Philippine Leroy-Beaulieu) arrives in the Italian capital for potential Business with Marcello’scompany.
Emily in Paris season 4 Part 2 ending explained
Clocking in at 46 minutes, the last episode, titled “All Roads Lead to Rome”, is where the drama reaches its peak.
Marcello, disappointed in Emily for bringing in Business between them, leaves for his hometown Solitano without her. However, determined not to let go of this relationship, she chooses him over her work and Travels to Solitano. She manages to convince him to get back, but the marketing professional in her resurfaces when Emily notices his Business ethics. While Marcello believes Emily came to Rome with work on her mind, his mother and the matriarch behind the company Antonia Muratori (played by Ana Galiena) gives Sylvie’s firm Agence Grateau a chance.
Meanwhile, there’s good news for Gabriel (Lucas Bravo). Genevieve (played by Thalia Besson), Sylvie’s husband Laurent’s (played by Arnaud Binard) secret daughter who secures a job at Agence Grateau, informs Gabriel that this time a Michelin inspector dined at his restaurant and that he won a star.
Now comes the main twist. Although he wouldn’t speak with her well after the breakup, an ecstatic Gabriel wished he received the news from Emily. However, when Genevieve, who tried getting close to him, told him she was away in Rome with Marcello, he couldn’t help but give her the message himself. Seems like the embers are yet to go out after all.
Twists are not over yet. Having successfully closed a deal with the Muratoris, who insisted they must work with Agence Grateau only if they have an office in Rome, Sylvie appoints Emily to take care of the new Italian office. So, does that mean her Instagram handle will now be @emilyinrome?
The episode ends with Emily and Marcello getting back and cruising around Roma. And, just when we think the Christmas curse is finally over, Gabriel asks Mindy about Emily’s location. Whoa, what just happened?
What to expect in season 5?
So, does that mean there is an upcoming season 5 with Emily yet again having to choose between two men? There is no official confirmation yet, but going by the way season 4 ended, there seems quite the potential.
The plot can be stretched into probing her life in Italy, acquiring new clients in the country, navigating newfound love, seeing what Gabriel does and more.
Until then, watch all four seasons of Emily in Paris on Netflix.
