Steve the Lurcher dog was left tied to a lamppost in a deserted bus stop in Canterbury, Kent. The lonely 2-year-old was squealing in pain from a broken leg for hours before he was finally spotted by a passerby.

A charity named “Dogs Trust” took Steve in and arranged for his surgery at the “Harmsworth Animal Hospital”.

Initial scans revealed that Steve’s front leg was completely split in two. The scared dog had been enduring unimaginable suffering for quite some time, but his heartless owner shamelessly discarded him instead of getting help.

Thankfully, an expert vet team was able to repair the damage to his leg to a great extent during a difficult operation.

Steve was understandably quite nervous due to the stressful series of events, but his Health is now on the mend at Leybourne Animal Centre. He is a good-natured boy, and is really sweet to everyone despite his tough treatment regime.

He will remain in RSPCA custody throughout his recovery period of 12 weeks, after which the officers will look into re-homing options for him.

RSPCA Inspector Grace Harris-Bridge has been investigating the case of Steve’s abandonment. So far, the owner hasn’t been identified due to the lack of microchip or useful security footage.

Anyone with relevant information is urged to contact the RSPCA Inspector appeal line at 0300 123 8018. Spread the word and help his irresponsible owner be found soon.
