The Minnesota Twins and the Cleveland Guardians meet Monday in MLB action from Progressive Field. Here’s a Cleveland Guardians vs Minnesota Twins prediction. This will be the first installment in a four-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Guardians vs Twins pick.

Minnesota Twins Betting Preview

The Twins played the Cincinnati Reds over the weekend. Minnesota took a couple of losses 8-4 and 11-1 in the first pair. In the finale the Twins powered out a 9-2 win on 12 team hits. Starter David Festa left after just 3.2 innings and two earned runs, though.

In the starter slot for Monday the Twins will send out Pablo Lopez. Over his 29 starts Lopez is 15-8 with a 3.88 ERA. In 155 career starts Lopez is 54-47 with a 3.86 ERA.

Over on the Guardians’ side, they played the Tampa Bay Rays in their last set. Cleveland lost the first pair before a 6-1 Saturday victory. In the finale the Guardians snagged a 2-0 shutout win to come away with a draw in the series. Ben Lively finished with 5.0 clean frames, four hits and a walk.

It’ll be Matthew Boyd in the starter slot for the Guardians on Monday. This year Boyd is 2-1 with a 2.18 ERA in six starts. Over 180 career Games (166 starts) Boyd is 46-68 with a 4.84 ERA.

Cleveland Guardians vs Minnesota Twins Prediction

I’m leaning toward the Twins. We should have a nice pitching matchup here, though. Boyd has been pretty good in his last few outings, too. During that trio Boyd is 1-1 with three earned runs over 16.1 combined innings. As for Lopez, he’s given up just three earned (all in one start) over his last three outings over 21.1 innings.

In their Sunday matchup the Twins scored five runs during a big seventh inning that pretty much iced the Game. Brooks Lee (five RBI) in particular had a great day. I’d like to see a good start out of Lopez Monday; if Minnesota can get that, the team should have a solid shot at another W.
