Champions League semi-finals 2023/24: teams, fixtures, schedule, venue
If the Round of 16 was a little underwhelming, the 2023/24 Champions League sprung into life with a thrilling set of quarterfinal fixtures. Every one of the eight matches, played across two weeks, offered intrigue, drama, suspense and plenty of quality. At the end of it, only four teams will remain in the competition.
The semi-finals of the 2023 Champions League will be played on Tuesday 30 April and Tuesday, 7 May, whittling four teams down to two in time for the Champions League final on Saturday 1 June at Wembley Stadium.
What are the fixtures for the Champions League semifinals?
On Tuesday we saw two action-packed Games in the Champions League quarterfinal. In Barcelona the hosts, who had won their away leg against Paris Saint-Germain, capitulated and lost 4-1 to the French champions. PSG make it through to the semifinals.
There was more disappointment for Spanish sides as Atletico Madrid failed to capitalise on their first leg victory against Borussia Dortmund. Atleti fell to a 4-2 loss on the night, enough for Dortmund to progress 5-4 on aggregate.
Who do Real Madrid play in the Champions League semi-finals?
Arsenal crashed out of the quarter-finals with a 1-0 loss to Bayern who defended for large periods and got a goal on the counter attack with Joshua Kimmich heading past Raya.
As for Real Madrid, they beat Manchester City on penalties in another crazy round of football that saw two elite teams go at each other.
As a result, Real Madrid will play Bayern Munich in the semi-finals of the UEFA Champions League.
