The title race between Celtic and Rangers is so tight that the pressure for both managers to succeed is huge.

With just four Games left to go, any slip-up now will have a major affect on where the Scottish Premiership will rest at the end of the season.

Whilst Celtic have had their stumble and recovered well to go back to the top of the league, Rangers are currently still feeling the after-effects of dropping points to Ross County and Dundee over the last two weeks.

And it seems that the pressure of that is getting to Philippe Clement according to former Celtic defender, Alan Stubbs.

Stubbs – ‘Celtic have responded like champions.’

Brendan Rodgers has had to deal with and respond to a narrative in the Scottish media that had written off his Celtic team as Rangers found some form under new manager, Clement.

And Stubbs said that how the Celtic manager has responded to that has put his team in a ‘prime’ position whilst Rangers have ‘wilted’ under the pressure.

Stubbs said [talkSPORT], “I think Celtic have responded like champions. I think Rangers have wilted under the pressure a bit, I must admit.

“You know, Celtic have been quietly letting a lot of people do the talking about them whereas Brendan has been there and done it.

“And I think Celtic are in a really strong position right now. I just feel as if the Rangers manager has come out with a few strange comments, which I didn’t get after the Old F*rm Game and the Dundee Game after that.

“But I just feel as if Celtic are in prime position right now to do a double after what some people would have said is such a mediocre season.”

The proof will be in the pudding over the next couple of weeks. Celtic could stretch their lead to six points on Saturday with a win against Hearts for 24 hours until Rangers entertain Kilmarnock at Ibrox.

If Rangers can keep up or even if they drop points, they face another trip to Celtic Park where they must win to keep their title hopes alive.

And as Stubbs said, Rodgers has run this race before. He has already shown this season with two wins and a draw that he has the measure of his counterpart.

The next ten days are going to be very interesting indeed.
