Long-term Celtic target Mathias Kvistgaarden has opened the door to a January exit from Brondby amid reports that the Hoops have reignited their interest in the forward.

Kvistgaarden has been linked with the Bhoys for the past few years and recently was scouted by the Scottish Premiership champions.

In 2024, across all comPetitions, the 22-year-old has registered 13 goals and five assists in 20 appearances.

He is a versatile, young talent who, although predominantly a centre-forward, can equally operate on both flanks.

With Kyogo Furuhashi ageing and reportedly on Manchester City’s list of potential replacements for Julian Alvarez, one imagines Celtic are planning for the long-term by continually showing interest in a 22-year-old Kvistgaarden, who has a similar profile to the Japanese forward.

The Danish season runs on a yearly basis, so bringing the striker to Glasgow in January could work for all parties.

Recently speaking on a potential Brondby exit, Kvistgaarden admitted his desire to play overseas: “It would be great if a lot of things came from outside,” he said (Bold).

“You dream of leaving at some point.

“There are still Games left, and if that were to happen, then you know that you are standing, and suddenly, you have the last few Games in the Brondby shirt this time around.

“So right now, I’m just looking towards the next Game. I am enjoying every single second I wear this shirt.”

While Celtic are long-term admirers of Kvistgaarden, they aren’t the only side currently monitoring the striker.

Noting that the Hoops have been scouting the player lately, Tipsbladet claimed that Feyenoord, Fenerbache, Hellas Verona, Bologna, and Brighton have also attended some of Brondby’s recent matches.

The Hoops will face stiff comPetition if they want to sign Kvistgaarden and strengthen Brendan Rodgers’ frontline in January.
