Celtic have five matches left to prove their title-winning credentials following this weekend’s Scottish Premiership events.

Brendan Rodgers led his side to a comfortable 3-0 victory over St Mirren, thanks to goals from Reo Hatate, Kyogo Furuhashi, and Adam Idah.

This, coupled with Rangers’ shock defeat to Ross County earlier today, has left Celtic in a strong position heading into the split, as we retain a four-point lead at the summit.

Of course, Philippe Clement’s side could reduce the gap in midweek by beating Dundee; however, Rodgers and company are safe in the knowledge their own destiny is under internal control.

One man you would expect to be a major player in the run-in is our Japanese talisman Furuhashi, who hasn’t always enjoyed the rub of the green this campaign despite netting three in his last five matches.

Per Transfermarkt, the 29-year-old has registered 16 goals and four assists in 43 appearances circa 2023/24, and he underwent an adaption period to a slightly altered way of working under Rodgers.

Now, he appears to be fighting fit ahead of the post-split fixtures; meanwhile, Adam Idah has become a more than able deputy to the former Vissel Kobe forward.

Kyogo Furuhashi opens up on life under Brendan Rodgers

Rarely seen in the media, Furuhashi has shed some light on what life has been like for him at Celtic since the former Leicester City manager returned to Parkhead last summer.

Feeling prepared for the season’s final stage, the Japan international has already vowed on social media earlier today to give his all for the Bhoys as they pursue silverware.

Furuhashi stated [Cited via The Scotsman]: “Everything is good with me. I have no problems or fitness concerns just now. I am feeling sharp and ready for what the rest of the season brings.

He then stated on Rodgers: “The manager is someone who is always thinking about the team, thinking about us and thinking about how to win Games for Celtic,” Furuhashi said before adding, “As players, we just have to try to help him in that aim by playing the way he wants us to play.”

Kyogo Furuhashi remains pivotal for Celtic

Although his campaign could’ve been more profitable on the goal front, Furuhashi remains pivotal to Celtic’s double-winning mission, evidenced by his movement for our second goal against St Mirren yesterday.

Few players across Europe can create a yard of space like the Hoops’ forward in a split-second moment, which will be vital in our remaining five league matches.

The finest margins usually decide titles such as this one, and you’d have your money on no other than Furuhashi himself to be the man to fire Celtic to a third league crown in a row.
