It comes amidst his latest injury struggles, which saw him subbed off at half time of the Hoops’ clashes with St. Johnstone and Borussia Dortmund over the past 10 days.

Taylor then didn’t feature against Ross County on Sunday, Barcelona loanee Alex Valle taking his place in the side and very much impressing.

Young Valle is pushing Taylor for his spot in the team and undoubtedly grasping his current opportunity.

The former Kilmarnock defender will be out until after Celtic’s table-topping clash with Aberdeen a week on Saturday, which means he had to drop out of the Scotland squad for the upcoming international break.

RecordSport reports that Taylor is set to withdraw from the group and will be replaced by Aberdeen’s Jack Mackenzie in the process.

The 24-year-old has made a storming start to the season with the Dons, who are level on points with Celtic at the top of the Scottish Premiership after seven matches.

The sides meet in a crunch tie at Parkhead in the first Game back after the international break.

Despite its significance, the hotly anticipated clash won’t be on Sky Sports. A traditional 3pm kick-off is set a week on Saturday as the Hoops look to find some daylight at the top of the table.
