Scott McKenna has put to rest any ongoing transfer speculation linking him with Celtic by signing a three-year contract with La Liga side Las Palmas.

Previously a free agent after his departure from Nottingham Forest, McKenna was linked with a potential move to Celtic following his loan stint at Copenhagen, where he experienced Champions League action against Manchester City.

Instead, the 27-year-old defender has opted for a permanent move to Las Palmas, where he’ll continue his career in Spain’s top flight. It’s a good move for him but there will be a lot of Travelling in store from the Canary Island.

Celtic are still searching for defensive reinforcements. The Scottish champions are reportedly prepared to offload Gustaf Lagerbielke, Maik Nawrocki, and Yuki Kobayashi, which would significantly thin their defensive options.

With Celtic aiming to bolster their squad, attention will remain on finding a suitable upgrade for Liam Scales.
