Celtic Eyes Former Stars for U18 Managerial Role
Celtic is actively searching for a new Under-18 manager following the departure of Stuart McLaren at the start of the year.
Among the candidates for the role are former Celtic players Jonny Hayes and Charlie Mulgrew, who could potentially return to Parkhead in a coaching capacity.
Hayes, currently 36, has been involved in coaching duties with Aberdeen’s academy, specifically working with the Under-16 squad, while still playing for the team.
Charlie Mulgrew, 38, is also considered a strong candidate for the coaching position. Having retired from professional Football last September, Mulgrew is looking to step into a coaching role. [RecordSport]
He’s been to Lennoxtown this season to watch and learn from Brendan Rodgers this season, while also taking a trip to Premier League side Brighton to learn from their coaches.
There’s a lot of reshuffling going on in the Celtic ranks, particularly in the youth side. Last week we saw Darren O’Dea switch positions from the B Team and become the Professional Player Pathway Manager.
