Celtic have been looking at strengthening the first-team squad for some time now and the fans will be looking forward to the summer to see what gems Brendan Rodgers can find.

Because if the winter window is anything to go by, the captures of Adam Idah on loan Nicolas Kuhn shows that the Celtic manager does have an eye for a player.

Whilst Idah has been a great signing, Kuhn is still settling in after his recent Health issues but he has shown signs recently that there is a good player in there.

And whilst there is still work to be done in the summer, a player who has previously been linked to Celtic may have played his last Game for his current club.

Mathias Kvistgaarden could move on

Mathias Kvistgaarden has been linked to Celtic on numerous occasions since last summer. The Danish u21 international has been the one name that simply won’t go away.

And speaking about his current injury, Brondby manager, Jesper Sorensen, dropped a hint that he could have played his last Game for the Danish club.

Sorensen said [Tipsbladet via Daily Record], “I have told him that he will come back even stronger. We all know that – that’s how he is. It is a minor bump on a long and good road for him.”

With Kvistgaarden now missing the rest of the Danish season, when pressed if he will play for Brondby again, Sorensen continued, “That’s a good question.

“I’d rather not speculate on it. I hope not, but we’ll have to see. I don’t really have any idea what time will bring.”

Celtic was told in December that Brondby would be looking for a fee of around £8.5m for Kvistgaarden and that anything less than £6.9m would not be entertained.

Whether the club would be willing to pay that kind of money is one thing but another factor could be whether is it worth just shelling out the money that Norwich City want for Adam Idah.

Whatever happens with this, we will certainly be keeping an eye in this situation as one thing is for sure, whether it’s Idah or Kvistgaarden, Celtic do still need to add another striker this summer to prepare for the season ahead.
