The Los Angeles Chargers and the Carolina Panthers meet Sunday in NFL action from Bank of America Stadium. Here’s a Carolina Panthers vs LA Chargers Prediction. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best Panthers vs Chargers pick.

Los Angeles Chargers Betting Preview

Los Angeles didn’t make a ton of noise in their first couple Games during the preseason. The Chargers fell to the Seahawks 16-3 and the Rams 13-9. The finale versus the Cowboys was different however, as LA powered out a 26-19 win to avoid the exhibition sweep.

In their first matchup of the regular season, the Chargers played the Raiders. In that one LA held a slim 9-7 lead after three quarters. The Chargers scored 13 from there and won 22-10. QB Justin Herbert finished with 144 yards and a TD. JK Dobbins led the rushing attack on 10 carries for 135 yards and a score.

Carolina Panthers Betting Preview

Over on the Panthers’ side, they likewise had a fairly unremarkable first couple Games in the preseason. Carolina lost to the Patriots 17-3 and the Jets 15-12. In the exhibition finale versus the Bills however, the Panthers took a 31-26 victory.

Matched up against the Saints back on Sunday, the Panthers went into the locker room trailing 30-3. Carolina gave up another 17 points from there in a 47-10 blowout loss. QB Bryce Young had 161 yards and two interceptions in the defeat. Miles Sanders was the top rusher on five carries for 22 yards, and Adam Thielen had three catches for 49 yards.

Carolina Panthers vs LA Chargers Prediction

I’m leaning toward the Chargers. LA looked pretty good late in their win over the Raiders last weekend, but their offensive stats left much to be desired. The Chargers posted 316 total yards (140 passing) with 11 first downs and a tepid 4-of-15 on third-down tries. The good news is that the defense was great, notching three takeaways and 296 yards allowed (225 passing).

As for Carolina, there aren’t many positives to speak of concerning their opener loss. The Panthers had three turnovers, went just 1-of-10 on third downs and mustered just 193 total yards (135 passing). It was pretty embarrassing on both sides of the ball, even considering the Saints’ ten penalties. I like Carolina to look better in Week 2 but I don’t think they’ll cover.

Andrew's Free Pick: Los Angeles Chargers -3.5
