Bucky Irving has been removed from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ injury report ahead of this weekend’s NFL clash with the San Francisco 49ers, having been able to participate in full practice on Friday.

What injury does Bucky Irving have?

The rookie running back has been troubled by a lingering toe injury in recent times, causing him to miss several practice sessions in the build-up to the Bucs’ defeats to the Atlanta Falcons and the Kansas City Chiefs in Weeks 8 and 9, respectively.

Before Friday, the last time the Bucs had not listed Irving as either ‘did not practice’ or ‘limited practice’ was on Saturday October 19, ahead of the Floridians’ Week 7 loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

Irving managing injury for “whole life”

Speaking ahead of the Falcons Game, Buccaneers head coach Todd Bowles explained that Irving’s toe issue pre-dates his arrival in the NFL as a fourth-round 2024 Draft pick. “It’s a toe injury he’s had since college, something he’s been having to deal with his whole life,” Bowles said, per SI.

Although officially listed as ‘questionable’ for the Falcons and Chiefs Games, Irving was able to appear for the two-time Super Bowl champions. But as Pro Football Network’s Kyle Soppe points out, the 22-year-old’s snap-involvement percentage against Kansas City - 34.6% - was his lowest since the Buccaneers’ Week 3 defeat to the Denver Broncos.
