Big League Bound: RCK Grad Drafted By Minnesota Twins
Not to brag, but there's been a ton of talent coming out of the Hudson Valley lately when it comes to professional Sports. All eyes were on Wappingers
The Hudson Valley, and us Wappingers residents specifically, have been proudly following the career of Tyler Adams for a while, and loving the fact that he hasn't forgotten his local roots with all of his success.

From Wappingers to the Major League
Technically, he made a stop at St. John's so it wasn't directly from Wappingers to the MLB, but Roy C. Ketcham graduate Xavier Kolhosser was recently selected by the Minnesota Twins baseball club in the 13th round of the MLB draft.
The Wappingers Falls native was selected 398th overall on Tuesday July 16th, following two seasons with the St. John's Red Storm.
Regarded as their ace, and after helping the team to their 10th BIG EAST Tournament Championship as well as their 38th appearance in the NCAA tournament, the Red Storm excitedly shared the news of Kolhosser's next stop.
In just two seasons with the Red Storm, the Wappingers Falls, N.Y. native dazzled with a 12-2 record while making starts in 21 of his 24 career outings. Boasting a 3.18 ERA, he also struck out 81 batters across 107.2 innings of work.

#WappingerProud - Town Shares Congratulatory Messages
The Town of Wappinger, late on Tuesday after hearing the word of Kolhosser heading to the Twins, shared their congratulations via social media, stating 'on behalf of the nearly 30,000 people who live in the great Town of Wappinger, your hometown is proud of you Xavier!'
Kolhosser joins a lengthy and successful list of locals who have done incredible things in the big leagues.
Kolhosser joins other recent MLB locals such as Ryan Murphy who went to RCK before being drafted by the San Fransisco Giants. In 2023 a few lower Hudson Valley ball players made their way to the big leagues. Of course, how could we forget the area's own Joe Panik who was drafted back in 2011, played in an All Star Game during his first full MLB season, won a World Series title with the Giants, and then retired in 2022.
