Barcelona set for Dani Olmo transfer: Spanish giants agree to $60 million deal with RB Leipzig, per reports
Dani Olmo is set to join FC Barcelona, after the side coached by Hansi Flick agreed to a deal with RB Leipzig for the transfer of the Spanish attacker. FC Barcelona will pay around $60 million, plus add-ons, according to Fabrizio Romano. Dani Olmo, who just won the UEFA 2024 Euro with Spain, played over four seasons in Germany and scored a total of 29 goals in 145 games played in all competitions.
Olmo played his youth career at Espanyol and FC Barcelona before moving to Croatia where he made his debut at Dinamo Zagreb in 2015. After over five seasons in Croatia, where he also played his first European Games, he joined RB Leipzig in January 2020. Olmo is now set to agree a six-year deal with Barcelona, valid until the summer 2030, as per the same report.

FC Barcelona sporting director Deco flew to Leipzig on Monday to get the deal sealed after weeks of negotiations. The Spanish star had a €60 million release clause valid until the end of July, but he and Leipzig agreed that he could leave if a good offer came in this summer.
FC Barcelona went through some big changes this summer after the end of the Xavi era, the former club legend who left the team despite agreeing to stay only a few weeks before. President Joan Laporta decided to appoint former Bayern Munich treble winner Hansi Flick as the new head coach, and Dani Olmo will be his first signing. Barcelona will likely invest a lot on their current roster, with players such as Spanish stars Lamine Yamal and Dani Olmo to become the faces of the new project under Flick.
