Avram Glazer responds to Cristiano Ronaldo criticism
Avram Glazer has responded to Cristiano Ronaldo's criticism of him and his family after being accused of not caring about Manchester United.
That was one of the many explosive comments Ronaldo made in an explosive interview with Piers Morgan on Talk TV.
The Man Utd owners were furious with the Portugal international's actions and he soon left by mutual consent afterwards, receiving no pay-off.
On the same day that was announced, it was also revealed that the Glazers are now looking at selling the club. Avram was asked about Ronaldo's comments by a Sky journalist who approached him on the street in Florida.
"I'll tell you about Cristiano Ronaldo, he's a great Manchester United player," he said. "I appreciate everything he's done for the club and I wish him the best of luck in the future, thanks very much."
Glazer was also asked why he and his family felt now was the time to sell the club, and stated that it was a strategic decision.
"The board went through a process and it has been decided it is going to look at different strategic alternatives and that's what we're doing."
In terms of who could buy Man Utd from the current owners, INEOS founder and OGC nice owner Sir Jim Ratcliffe, often referred to as the richest man in England, has emerged as a candidate and is expected to place a bid.
