Lamine Yamal has been the name on everyone’s lips since the summer, and now he’s caught the eye of Celtic fans in an unexpected way.
Yamal’s father posted a photo on Instagram sporting the new Celtic x Adidas Originals tracksuit.
While there’s no direct connection between Yamal and Celtic, the sight of his father in Hoops gear is sure to be appreciated by fans of the Scottish champions.
Yamal, who burst onto the scene for Barcelona, has been rewriting records since earning his first start on 20 August 2023 in a 2–0 victory over Cádiz. At only 16, Yamal quickly became one of Europe’s most talked-about talents, setting an array of records that showcase his extraordinary potential. In La Liga alone, he’s become Barcelona’s youngest starter, the youngest to provide an assist, the youngest scorer for both Barcelona and in La Liga, and the youngest to feature in El Clásico.
His rapid rise continued with his record as the first player under 17 to score a brace in La Liga, and he’s also become the youngest to surpass ten goal contributions in a season at 16 years and 213 days.
In European comPetition, Yamal has been equally impressive, becoming the second-youngest player to feature in the Champions League, the youngest starter, and the youngest player to appear in a knockout phase match. His remarkable form carried into the international stage, where he represented Spain at the Euros and claimed the Young Player of the Tournament award, with four assists and a historic win as the youngest player to lift the trophy.
