A few weeks into the summer transfer window there has been minimal activity at Celtic. Just one outgoing has been confirmed so far, with no players yet to be brought in.

With the Bhoys due back in action at the end of the week, fans are becoming increasingly frustrated about the lack of signings.

Supporters know several areas in the squad need strengthening, particularly if there are to be any noteworthy departures.

Indeed, star man Matt O’Riley has been widely linked with a summer exit, the latest side interested in him being Southampton.

Latest reports have said that O’Riley’s wages are proving a stumbling block in a potential deal but if he eventually does go, Celtic will need to find a valid replacement.

One attacking midfielder who has previously been linked with the Hoops is Callum O’Hare.

The Bhoys were said to have concrete interest in the 26-year-old back in April after they were reportedly monitoring his situation in March.

Now, despite scoring for Coventry in a painstaking FA Cup semi-final loss to Manchester United at Wembley a few months ago, O’Hare has become a free agent.

He didn’t renew his contract with the Sky Blues and could be signed for nothing now:

If Celtic loses O’Riley, signing O’Hare, especially on a free transfer, would be a shrewd piece of Business.

The midfielder, who came through the youth ranks of Aston Villa, can score, assist, and press adeptly, and looks very much like a Brendan Rodgers-type player.
