The Detroit Tigers and the Minnesota Twins meet Thursday in MLB action from Target Field. Here’s a Minnesota Twins vs Detroit Tigers prediction. This will be the final installment in a three-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.

Detroit Tigers Betting Preview

Over the weekend the Tigers took on the Los Angeles Angels. In that four-Game series the Tigers managed just one win, staving off the sweep with a Sunday victory 7-6. Following a 5-3 loss to the Twins in their opener, on Wednesday Detroit rolled to a 9-2 win.

In the starter role for the Tigers on Thursday it’ll be Kenta Maeda. This year in 14 starts Maeda is 2-4 with a 5.76 ERA. Over his 204 Games (169 starts) in his MLB career Maeda is 67-53 with a 4.03 ERA in 204 Games (169 starts).

Minnesota Twins Betting Preview

Over on the Twins’ side, they played the Seattle Mariners in their last set. Minnesota lost 3-2 Friday in the opener but then came back for wins 5-1 and 5-3 to take the series. On Wednesday the Twins were out-hit 11-8 in the defeat. Starter David Fiesta put up seven earned runs in 5.0 innings.

As starting pitcher for the finale Thursday the Twins will send out Bailey Ober. Across 16 starts this year Ober is 7-4 with a 4.30 ERA. In 73 career starts Ober is 20-16 with a 3.78 ERA.

Twins vs Tigers Pick Injury Notes

The Tigers put SP Casey Mize on the 15-day IL Wednesday (retroactive to July 1) due to a strained left hamstring.

Minnesota transferred RP Brock Stewart (shoulder) to the 60-day Injured List Wednesday.

Minnesota Twins vs Detroit Tigers Prediction

I might take a stab on the Tigers as a value play here. Maeda hasn’t been too bad over his last three starts; he’s got nine earned runs in 15.0 innings total with an 0-2 record in that trio but hasn’t gotten a ton of help from the offense either. As for Ober, he’s 2-0 in his last three with four earned in 21.1 innings total.

On Wednesday the Detroit offense had a great third inning with five runs. Four different Tigers players had a homer in a well-rounded effort. I like Detroit to keep it up in the finale.
