Ayr vs Celtic; What You Need to Know and Where to Watch

Celtic’s pre-season action begins this Friday with a fixture against Ayr United at Somerset Park. The match kicks off at 19:45, and for the first time in 25 years, the Bhoys will set foot on Ayr’s home turf. Adding to the excitement, Ayr United will unveil a new stand on the night. 

Managed by former Celtic captain Scott Brown, Ayr United will relish the challenge. Brown, who led the Celts from 2010 to 2021, now stands in the opposing dugout. 

Celtic fans have snapped up all available tickets, For those unable to attend, the match will be televised on Celtic TV. However, the Bhoys will be fielding a skeleton squad. Key players like Callum McGregor, Cameron Carter-Vickers, Alistair Johnston, and Luis Palma are on extended holidays post-international duty. We know for sure that players like Kyogo, Nicolas Kuhn, Lagerbielke and Maik Nawrocki will be in the squad along with some select youth players.  

Despite the reduced squad, the anticipation is high for Celtic’s return. Somerset Park’s atmosphere as the Hoops get their season underway.  

This will be Celtic’s first pres-season Game, but it doesn’t stop there. They will then play Queens Park next week followed by a three Game tour in the USA where they will be up against Man City, Cheslea and DC United. All these Games will be live on Celtic TV for those who subscribe.
