Atalanta Submit ‘Last’ Matt O’Riley Bid – Report

Atalanta is coming to an end in their pursuit of Celtic midfielder Matt O’Riley, submitting a final bid for the player.

The latest offer from the Italian club stands at €25 million plus an additional €2 million in performance-related bonuses. In total that’s £23 million.

Despite this increased bid, Celtic remains steadfast, holding out for their asking price of €29 million—€27 million guaranteed plus €2 million in bonuses. That’s £5 million in total.

Calcio Mercato says that this is Atalanta’s final offer, but it’s still below Celtic’s asking price.

The persistence from Atalanta is evident, with this being their fifth attempt to land the attacking midfielder.

The Europa League winners are eager to bring O’Riley on board, especially with a Champions League campaign on the horizon.

Personal terms between O’Riley and Atalanta have reportedly been agreed upon, with a contract extending until 2029 prepared for him.

Celtic are yet to respond to this bid. The next few hours could be crucial and reports will undoubtedly emerge of the stance that Celtic have taken.
