Alistair Johnston Makes Early Celtic Appearance
Alistair Johnston showed his support for his teammates from the sidelines as he witnessed Celtic’s 4-3 victory over Manchester City in their preseason friendly.
Johnston, who has been on an extended break following his participation in the Copa America with Canada, Travelled to America to watch the Game despite not being expected back in training until the start of August.
Johnston took to social media to celebrate their victory, posting a photo on his Instagram story with the caption “well done lads,” congratulating his teaMMAtes on their performance.
The Canadian international has had a whirlwind few weeks, having gotten engaged before attending The Open Championship in Troon.
Anthony Ralston, who played in the friendly, is expected to start at right-back for Celtic in their league opener against Kilmarnock, filling in for Johnston as he completes his rest period.
Celtic now turn their attention to Chelsea. It will be their last pre-season friendly before the league season starts.
