The New Orleans Saints finished 2nd in the NFC South with a 9-8 record last season, missing the playoffs. The Saints haven’t made the playoffs since 2020.

New Orleans was led by RB Alvin Kamara, who was able to run behind one of the better offensive lines in the NFL. The Saints added to that line by taking T Taliese Fuaga from Oregon State with the 14th pick in the 1st round of the NFL Draft. The Saints also bolstered their defensive line by adding DE Chase Young. In an open NFC South, New Orleans could stand to shock many this season.

Below, we look at the New Orleans Saints’ 2024 NFL Super Bowl odds from FanDuel Sportsbook along with projected win total, playoff, conference and division odds as we make our best NFL picks and predictions.

Saints over/under win total

Odds provided by FanDuel Sportsbook – last updated May 26 at 7:04 p.m. ET; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list.

  • 7.5 wins: (Over: -130 | Under: +106)

QB Derek Carr isn’t likely to win a Super Bowl any time soon, but in the last 3 seasons, his teams have topped 7 wins in 3 of them. Carr has thrown for 20-plus TDs in 5 straight seasons and sub-10 INTs in 3 of those. He’s not the best QB, but he’s competent enough.

Add in weapons like Kamara and a sound offensive line, and the Saints have enough to top their win total. New Orleans also has the 5th-easiest strength of schedule which should bode well, and it isn’t in a deep division which could bring several easy games to its schedule.

Couple all that together, and TAKE OVER 7.5 (-130).

New Orleans Saints Super Bowl odds

  • +8000 (bet $100 to win $8,000)

New Orleans is tied with the 23rd-shortest odds to win it all. The San Francisco 49ers (+550) are the favorites, followed by the Kansas City Chiefs (+600).

At +8000, New Orleans has an implied probability of winning the Super Bowl of 1.23% or 80/1 fractional odds. The Carolina Panthers have the longest odds at +30000.

Considering Carr has played in just 1 playoff game despite having more talented teams, it is highly unlikely the Saints made a deep playoff run. Backing the Saints (+8000) isn’t worth any wager. PASS.

Will Saints make the playoffs?

  • Yes +176 | No -225

The Saints are in a conference that might struggle. Teams like the Los Angeles Rams, New York Giants, Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks might take a step back. The NFC East, with the Dallas Cowboys and Philadelphia Eagles, likely have 2 teams in. The NFC North with the Detroit Lions and Green Bay Packers do as well, and then you’ll have the Rams, Buccaneers and Seahawks fighting for that last spot more than likely.

If the Saints can stay healthy, they have the talent on both sides of the ball to create havoc. New Orleans has a dynamic cornerback duo, a few of the top linebackers in the NFL and then a Young-Cam Jordan combination on the defensive line. The Saints have made the playoffs in 8 of the last 15 years.

If Carr can bring some consistency, expect a solid season. While the value is more on the win total, the better side here is YES (+176).

Odds to win NFC South Division

  • Falcons -115 (bet $115 to win $100)
  • Buccaneers +290 (bet $100 to win $290)
  • Saints +350 (bet $100 to win $350)
  • Panthers +1100 (bet $100 to win $1,100)

New Orleans’ implied probability of winning the NFC South is 22.2% or 7/2 fractional odds.

The Falcons have a strong QB now and should coast through the division. The Saints have a shot, but their playoff odds and win total are both better options and pose less risk. PASS.

Saints odds to win NFC

  • +4000 (bet $100 to win $4,000)

There’s not much reason to think the Saints have a shot at the NFC. In a conference with the Cowboys, Eagles and 49ers, the Saints will struggle to stay near the top. Last season, the Saints struggled against good teams, losing to the Houston Texans, Packers, Jacksonville Jaguars, Rams and Lions.

Most of their wins were against non-playoff teams. They will again have a  few easy wins, but will still struggle enough to not be in contention for the top spot in the NFC. PASS on a play here.
