The Minnesota Vikings enter a new era without QB Kirk Cousins, who signed with the Atlanta Falcons in free agency. Now with a rookie quarterback expected to lead the way, they hope to return to the postseason with a team that is loaded with talent.

Below, we look at the Minnesota Vikings’ 2024 NFL Super Bowl odds from FanDuel Sportsbook along with projected win total, playoff, conference and division odds as we make our best NFL picks and predictions.

Cousins departed in free agency and pass rusher Danielle Hunter left as well, signing with the Houston Texans.

Minnesota signed QB Sam Darnold and added former Texans pass rusher Jonathan Geenard to the defense. They also signed RB Aaron Jones, LB Blake Cashman, DL Jerry Tillery, TE Robert Tonyan and LB Andrew Van Ginkel.

They drafted QB J.J. McCarthy (Michigan) 10th overall and also EDGE Dallas Turner (Alabama) 17th overall.

Vikings over/under win total

Odds provided by FanDuel Sportsbook – last updated May 24 at 3:29 p.m. ET; access USA TODAY Sports Scores and Sports Betting Odds hub for a full list.

  • 7.5 wins: (Over: +132 | Under: -162)

So they have plus odds to win more than 7 games, when they have offensive weapons like RB Aaron Jones, WRs Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison and TE T.J. Hockenson?

And they have a duo of pass rushers in Greenard and Turner? They won 7 games with Cousins missing half the season with a torn Achilles.

McCarthy was a caretaker of the Michigan offense that had good weapons and a great defense. He led the Wolverines to a national championship. He has infinitely better players around him. And even if Darnold begins the season as the starter, if he can minimize mistakes, this is a team that should comPete for the playoffs.

McCarthy’s play will remind you of 49ers QB Brock Purdy. You might wonder about his limitations, but because of the talent around him, he has to simply not mess things up.

BET OVER 7.5 (+132).

Vikings Super Bowl odds

  • +8000 (bet $100 to win $8,000)

While the Vikings could be better than expected with a rookie QB, don’t mistake them for a Super Bowl contender.

The San Francisco 49ers (+550), Kansas City Chiefs (+600) and Baltimore Ravens (+900) are the favorites.

That said, because of their offensive skill players and the upgrades in the front 7 of the defense, as long as the QB play is good, they could surprise.

They only have 1.23% implied odds of winning the Super Bowl and only 6 teams have longer odds.

But of any team without ridiculous longshot odds, they might be the most likely team to get hot in the postseason and make some noise.

Take some movie money (not much more than that) and back VIKINGS (+8000).

Will Vikings make the playoffs?

  • Yes +285 | No -375

They won 7 Games with Josh Dobbs and Jaren Hall starting half the season in 2023. The NFC North is expected to go to Detroit and Green Bay is a contender again. The Bears are also an intriguing team.

The Vikings could easily steal a couple of wins and finish with 10, putting them in the postseason, and what makes the Vikings so intriguing is the +285 odds, which gives you a very nice payout.

If you are looking to spread some money around the NFL, VIKINGS TO MAKE PLAYOFFS (+285) is not a bad play.

Odds to win NFC North Division

  • Lions +145 (bet $100 to win $145)
  • Packers +185 (bet $100 to win $185)
  • Bears +320 (bet $100 to win $320)
  • Vikings +900 (bet $100 to win $900)

This is where you pump the brakes a little bit. The Lions and Packers look great. Even if one stumbles with injuries, the other is poised to take over.

The Vikings would need to play better than expected and have the Packers and Lions both underperform.

Vikings odds to win NFC

  • +3500 (bet $100 to win $3,500)

Like the Super Bowl odds, the Vikings are very much longshots. But, again, if McCarthy can play safely like Purdy did as a rookie for the 49ers, because of the talent on both sides of the ball, this team could be a surprise.

Despite 2.78% implied odds, because of the potential massive payout on a minimal investment, using some movie money on VIKINGS (+3500) is not a bad play.
