On his first appearance since the Masters in April, Tiger Woods sent the ball straight down the middle of the 438-yard par-4. He showed his skills early on, positioning himself for a birdie opportunity from 14 to 15 feet on the opening hole. Despite missing the birdie, he managed to make a par. On the par-three second, he faced a greenside bunker challenge, but he executed a vintage Tiger par save to stay at even par.

The turning point came at the par-five third, where Woods secured his first birdie of the comeback, bringing him to one under. He went on to ensure a total of six birdies during the round. Unfortunately, a bogey on the 18th hole dropped him to five under for the day. Throughout the round, Woods demonstrated his mastery, including a beautifully executed shot from just off the surface at the par-5 3rd, despite the challenges posed by the tricky greens.

The Hero World Challenge featured other notable players, including Matt Fitzpatrick, who impressed with a remarkable shot at the 13th, securing a birdie. Additionally, Jordan Spieth exhibited his skills with a fantastic second shot at the par-5 3rd, setting up a potential eagle. Players like Brian Haron and Cameron Young demonstrated their prowess, making birdies stay comPetitive. Meanwhile, Justin Thomas showcased self-belief with two consecutive birdies, highlighting his soundness on the course.

Scottie Scheffler, Max Homa, and Jordan Spieth also gave remarkable performances.

Tiger Woods’ return to comPetitive Golf became a focal point, and his round proved his enduring impact on the Game.
