Zach Bryan and Brianna ‘Chickenfry’ LaPaglia Split After More Than 1 Year of Dating: ‘I Am Sorry’

Zach Bryan is letting someone go. The country singer confirmed his split from girlfriend Brianna “Chickenfry” LaPaglia after more than one year of dating.

“Addressing something: Brianna and me have broken up with each other and I respect and love her with every ounce of my heart,” Zach, 28, wrote on his Instagram Stories on Tuesday, October 22. “She has loved me unconditionally for a very long time and for that I’ll always thank her.”

While explaining the decision to call it quits, the Oklahoma native alluded to some personal struggles in recent months.

“I have had an incredibly hard year personally and struggled through some pretty severe things. I thought it would be beneficial for both of us to go our different ways. I am not perfect and never will be,” Zach continued, although he did not go into specifics.

“Please respect Brianna’s privacy and space in this, and if you have it in your heart, mine too. With everything I am and to anyone I let down, I am sorry. I try my best in everything. I failed people that love me and mostly myself,” he concluded.

Though the breakup appeared to be a mutual decision, Brianna, 25, wrote on her own Instagram Stories on Tuesday that she was “feeling really blindsided right now.”

“Gonna hop off social media for a while and attempt to heal privately, when I’m ready I’ll be back and ready to talk. I love you guys so much thank you for all of your kind words. Remember you are so loved and everything’s always gonna be okay,” she added.

The internet personality later clarified in a YouTube video that she was “blindsided” by Zach’s post announcing the split because their breakup came only one day before. He allegedly did not warn her that he was going to go public with the news so soon.

“I’ve been crying for like, five days straight,” she explained. “I’m just at the point where it’s like, how can you give someone everything and love them so unconditionally through stuff that you shouldn’t because you just love them and you want them… like you see the good in them.”

Brianna continued, “How can you give every ounce of yourself to someone and then be discarded of in a few days? It’s really, really heartbreaking and I don’t want to talk about details right now. I don’t want to talk about it yet.”

Zach and Brianna met at the Academy of Country Music Awards in May 2023 and began dating that July. Their split came as a shock to many fans, especially given that the former couple appeared to be heading toward an engagement. A source exclusively told Life & Style in August that Zach and Brianna had “talked long and hard about their future and plan to set a wedding date for next year.”

The source continued, “Zach says Brianna is not only hot and funny, but she’s in the public eye and can handle all the attention and hoopla around him. Zach lives life in the fast lane, and he’s fast-tracking a marriage to Brianna.”
