Yang Hyun-jun Makes Rare Instagram Post After First Celtic Start in Six Months
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers rang the changes for last night’s Scottish Premiership clash with Dundee, notably drafting wing duo Luis Palma and Yang Hyun-jun in from the cold.
Both have been peripheral figures this season but were handed rare opportunities amidst a packed fixture schedule.
Palma flattered to deceive last night, and while Yang showed some positive signs and set up Alistair Johnston’s opener, he, too, was somewhat disappointing in his display.
It was the 22-year-old’s first start in over six months, however.
Indeed, the last time Yang got the nod for Celtic was in the Scottish Cup semi-final with Aberdeen in April. He was hooked just after the hour mark that day, much like last night.
That didn’t prevent the South Korean from taking to Instagram, though, where he expressed his gratitude for getting some vital minutes in his legs:

Still only 22, Yang has a wealth of room for growth.
While he shows flashes of potential, he must be more consistent in his displays to succeed at Celtic.
His and Palma’s performances last night highlighted the Hoops’ concerning lack of depth in the wide areas. If it isn’t already, signing a new winger should be at the top of Brendan Rodgers’ priority list in the January transfer window.
