The future of Jason Kelce as an NFL player remains uncertain, as the center for the Philadelphia Eagles has been flirting with retirement from the NFL but has not yet completed the necessary paperwork to make it official.

The 36-year-old veteran offensive lineman recently appeared on the latest episode of The Big Podcast with Shaquille O’Neal, former NBA player and four-time champion, where he discussed his potential retirement. The Basketball Hall of Famer advised him to embrace retirement to enjoy time with his family. Jason has three daughters with his wife, Kylie.

“My advice to you is, if you’re going to retire, accept it,” said the former basketball player. “Enjoy your family, brother. I made a lot of dumb mistakes to where I lost my family...

“That’s not the case for you, so enjoy your beautiful wife, enjoy your beautiful kids.”

You can listen to the full advice segment below.

The elder Kelce brother competed in 193 games over 13 seasons and was part of the Super Bowl LII-winning team. Additionally, he was selected for the NFL All-Pro First Team six times and received seven invitations to the Pro Bowl. He seemed very pleased with the advice given.

Shaquille O’Neal ended up alone in a 100,000-square-foot house

O’Neal emphasized the importance of being a champion and stated that he doesn’t need more recognition than that of his family because he ended up alone in a 100-square-foot house due to not being considerate towards them.

“You have the ring, people know who you are. Enjoy it, because I was a fool, and I’ve talked about it for a long time,” said O’Neal. “I lost my family; I’m alone in a 100,000-square-foot house.”

The former NBA player divorced Shaunie Nelson in 2011, the same year he retired from the courts. The center had four children with her: Shareef, Shaqir, Amirah, and Me’arah.
