The Philadelphia Eagles and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers are dealing with significant injury concerns ahead of their Sunday clash at Raymond James Stadium, their third encounter in the last year.

Both teams are encountering numerous injuries, so the condition of their star players, who happen to be playing in the same position, will undoubtedly impact the Game. The Eagles are closely monitoring their key offensive players, Brown and Smith, while the Buccaneers are also closely watching their wide receiver duo of Evans and Godwin.

Brown and Smith were not present at the Eagles’ Wednesday practice

The Eagles still feel the effects of a tough game against the New Orleans Saints, which saw several players get banged up.

The most concerning updates come from the receiving corps, with wideouts A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith missing practice on Wednesday. Brown is dealing with a possible concussion, while Smith’s status remains uncertain. Smith must complete the NFL’s five-step concussion protocol before returning to practice. With the bye week looming, there’s a chance the Eagles may decide to rest their stars and have them fully recovered for Week 6.

However, there is some positive news. Offensive guard Landon Dickerson and tackle Lane Johnson were limited in practice, but both could still be ready for Sunday’s game. Meanwhile, cornerback Darius Slay participated in the drills despite dealing with a knee issue, suggesting he’ll be good to go against the Buccaneers.

As for the replacements, wide receiver Johan Dotson remains on injured reserve, while other depth players like Johnny Wilson and Paris Campbell could step into more significant roles if Brown and Smith are ruled out. The Eagles have also added veteran receiver John Ross, though his role remains to be determined.

How is the situation with the Buccaneers’ injury list?

The Buccaneers have several key players dealing with injuries. Wide receivers Mike Evans and Chris Godwin were limited in practice, raising questions about their availability for the game.

Evans, in particular, is dealing with a hamstring issue, while Godwin is nursing a minor injury that the team hopes won’t sideline him.

Offensive tackle Luke Goedeke remains in concussion protocol, which puts his status for Sunday in doubt. Defensive tackle Vita Vea is trending towards being available, while other starting defensive players are all hopeful to play.
