Who were the top scorers in Liga MX in 2023?
The start of the Clausura 2024 is just around the corner and, with one eye on the upcoming tournament, Julián Quiñones will be looking to once again win the title of top scorer in Mexican soccer along with names such as Henry Martin, Gignac and Funes Mori.
Transfermarkt published the Top 10 scorers of 2023 in Liga MX in which Julián Quiñones leads with a total of 28 goals in all comPetitions. The striker started the year with Atlas, where he scored 16 goals, and in the second half of the year he wore the azulcrema shirt, where he scored 12 goals to become the real â€killer’ in the league.
Gignac hasn’t lost his scoring touch
In second place is Tigres’ 38-year-old forward Gignac, who scored 24 goals last season. He sits ahead of Henry Martin who completes the top scorer podium with 23 goals. MartĂn is a forward who found fantastic form last season for both club and country and has already become an historic name with the Mexico City side.
Further down, in fourth place sits Harold Preciado, who stood out with 23 goals in a year in which Santos were not top team in the league. Another curious name on the list is Funes Mori, who has been rumoured to be leaving Rayados but has not stopped scoring goals.
Liga MX Apertura top 10 goal scorers:
In terms of teams, América is the club with the most players in this top 10, as in addition to Quiñones and Henry, they also have Diego Valdés, who was one of the most dangerous attacking players in the previous season.
