Country artist Brad Paisley will sing the US national anthem ahead of Game 1 of the 2024 World Series, which sees the Los Angeles Dodgers take on the New York Yankees.

A three-time Grammy winner and a fan of the Dodgers, Paisley has sung “The Star-Spangled Banner” before previous World Series clashes involving the franchise.

In 2017, the 51-year-old performed the anthem ahead of Game 2 in the series, which the Dodgers lost 4-3 to the Houston Astros. The following year, he sang before Game 3 of the Fall Classic, in which Los Angeles again missed out on the Commissioner’s Trophy. The Californians went down 4-1 to the Boston Red Sox.

Who sang the national anthem in the 2023 World Series?

In Game 1 of last year’s World Series, between the Texas Rangers and the Arizona Diamondbacks, the national anthem was sung by the R&B singer H.E.R. In Game 2, high-school senior Pearle Peterson was chosen, before American Idol winner Jordin Sparks was given the nod for Game 3. The following contest witnessed a rendition by country artist Mickey Gunton, before Game 5 - in which the Rangers clinched a 4-1 series win to seal their first ever MLB title - saw Fifth Harmony’s Dinah Jane sing the anthem.
