In recent years Barcelona’s partnership with Spotify has resulted in a number of one-off jersey collaborationd between the Spanish club and some of the biggest names in the music industry.

The likes of Drake, Rosalia and the Rolling Stones have all seen their logos sported on the front of Barcelona’s shirt for El Clásico, the iconic derby fixture against Real Madrid.

Across the planet, El Clásico is one of the most widely-watched soccer Games and it offers an almost paralleled stage for artists to promote themselves. The next meeting between Barcelona takes place on Sunday, 21 April and Colombian singer-songwriter Karol G looks set to feature on Barça’s jerseys.

Earlier this year Barcelona took on Real Madrid with the Rolling Stones' iconic logo on their jerseys.

The move has not yet been confirmed by the club but Spanish publication MundoDeportivo has reported the news.

Who is Karol G?

If the reports are correct, Karol G will follow in some very illustrious footsteps when she graces the front of Barcelona’s shirt for an El Clásico fixture. The 33-year-old hails from Medellin, Colombia and has built a global reputation during her career as an artist.

She is one of the most iNFLuential reggaetón artists in the world and is the first-ever female artist to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 with a Spanish-language album. Her song ‘TQG’ with compatriot Shakira reached No. 7 in the United States and she has won a whole host of industry awards.

Karol G has picked up five Latin Grammy Awards, four Billboard Music Awards and one Grammy Award. Earlier this year she was named Billboard’s Woman of the Year for 2024, becoming the first Latin artist to win the award.

She may be a new name for some soccer fans, but Karol G is no stranger to the Game. Last year she publicly congratulated the Colombian women’s national team on their progress through the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand. Now she has the chance to engage with a new set of soccer fans with her logo set to feature front and centre in one of the most-watched sporting events on the planet.
