Following Tuesday’s fixtures on matchday five of the 2023-24 Champions League group stage, 10 teams have booked their places in the Round of 16, including big hitters Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester City.

Xavi Hernández’s side squandered the chance to qualify on matchday four after losing to Shakhtar Donetsk but have avoided a nervy last fixture thanks a comeback win over the Portuguese.

When is matchday six of the Champions League group stage?

The final group stage fixtures will take place on Tuesday 12 December and Wednesday 13 December, by which point we will know the identities of all 16 qualifiers.

The first legs of the Round of 16 ties will be played on 13, 14, 20 and 21 February next year, with the returns following on 5, 6, 12 and 13 March. The draw will be made on 18 December.
