WhatsApp working on feature to edit messages
Last year, WhatsApp began working on a feature that would enable users to edit the messages they've sent, and though the feature was released in the beta version on Android, the company is still working to introduce the feature for the iOS app.
WABetaInfo noted that WhatsApp has released the feature for some iOS apps in the latest beta version. The option to edit messages is available to a small group of WhatsApp users, who just have to tap on the message to see the option to edit the text sent.

Unlike Telegram, WhatsApp intends to restrict how users can edit sent messages with a time limit of 15 minutes from the moment the text was sent.
iMessage adopts a similar approach of restricting editing messages sent. WhatsApp will also display an edited label on the messages that have been edited by the sender. The feature will only work for text messages and not for images, videos, or documents.
It is unclear when the feature will be made available for use by the public. Earlier this week, WhatsApp finally introduced a picture-in-picture feature for video calls on its iOS apps.
