WhatsApp introduces native macOS app
WhatsApp’s new macOS app is now available in beta version for download from the official website.
Previously, WhatsApp offered a web-wrapped version of the app for MacBook users. However, with the new macOS app, users will be able to make more efficient use of all the features.
The app will now allow users to participate in video calls with up to 8 people and audio calls with up to 32 people. Users can share files by easily dragging and dropping into a chat, view more of their chat History, choose to receive incoming call notifications even when the app is closed and join a group call after it’s started.

In a blog post, Meta mentioned, "The app is redesigned to be familiar to Mac users, helping you get more done faster when using WhatsApp on a large screen."
Whatsapp had put the app for testing for a small number of people on TestFlight.
