Alcaraz vs Djokovic: previous meetings

The 21-year-old won the first ever meeting between the pair in the semifinals of 2022 Madrid Open, coming from behind to win on clay in three sets and reach the final, where he defeated Alexander Zverev.

Djokovic had to wait more than a year to gain his revenge, triumphing in four sets in the last four of the French Open at Roland Garros in 2023. He closed out the Game by winning each of the last two sets 6-1, before beating Casper Ruud in the final.

Then came Alcaraz’s epic 1-6, 7-6, 6-1, 3-6, 6-4 victory in last year’s Wimbledon final, the Spaniard’s most recent victory against the 24-time Grand Slam champion and the only time they have faced each other on grass.

“Nole” has won the last two meetings between the pair, seeing off Alcaraz in three sets to win the 2023 Cincinnati Open and in two in the semifinals of last year’s ATP Finals, which he won by defeating Jannik Sinner in the final.
