Wimbledon 2024 makes doughnut history
The 2024 Wimbledon celebration not only highlights Carlos Alcaraz’s significant victory over Novak Djokovic in the final but also marks a historic record in Tennis. For the first time in the Open Era and after 225 Grand Slams, there was no match in the men’s draw of the tournament that featured a “doughnut” (a 6-0 set).

When could Alcaraz and Djokovic face each other again?
No men’s doughnuts at Wimbledon 2024
There were several moments where this could have occurred, such as in the Quentin Halys - Holger Rune match, where Halys led 5-0 and 40-15 in the first set, ultimately winning it 6-1. A similar situation happened in the match between Lucas Pouille and Laslo Djere, where Pouille was up 5-0 and 40-15 in the fifth set but couldn’t immediately secure the sixth Game.
Even Alcaraz, despite being the champion, did not win any set by 6-0 or 6-1, although he did suffer a 1-6 loss in his match against Ugo Humbert. These statistics demonstrate the intense comPetition over the two weeks at Wimbledon, where Alcaraz managed to extend his reign for at least another year.
