By this point in the NFL season, the 3-7 Dallas Cowboys should be used to being the butt of the jokes. They couldn’t even escape it during the Country Music Awards, which were hosted by NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning and country music artists Luke Bryan and Lainey Wilson.

Peyton’s joke at Cowboys' expense

The 58th annual CMAs were held on Wednesday with a kickoff performance of “California Sober” by Cowboys' number one fan Post Malone and Chris Stapleton. They then gave the mics to Manning, Bryant, and Wilson.

Wilson, who will be performing at the Cowboys' Thanksgiving Day halftime show, made a reference to a song by Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan, saying, "We learned this year that ‘Cowboys Cry Too.’"

Manning couldn’t miss the opportunity to poke fun at the Dallas Cowboys.

“But enough about Jerry Jones,” he said.

To be fair, that was a pretty tasteful joke, considering how poorly the Cowboys have played this season, not to mention all the other drama (stadium disasters, questionable signings, tour criticisms...to name a few).
