Wealthy, Behaving Badly: Shows Like The Perfect Couple You Need to Watch
From The White Lotus to 90210, these are the shows like The Perfect Couple you need to add to your watchlist.
Netflix’s The Perfect Couple features the likes of Nicole Kidman and Liev Schreiber attending what’s supposed to be a fun wedding until a body washes up on shore. Now this affluent couple along with their equally affluent friends are suspects, and as all of them are stuck on this otherwise magical island together, things start to unravel.
There’s something about the uber-rich descending into madness that seems to fascinate us, and this list backs that up. There are plenty of shows that feature rich people behaving badly, so if you’re looking for your next binge, these are shows like The Perfect Couple you could get into.

Shows like The Perfect Couple to add to your watchlist
The White Lotus
Rich people, a picturesque location, and murder? The White Lotus is the ideal next watch after The Perfect Couple—that is, if you aren’t already a fan of the series. The anthology show is set in different locations of The White Lotus resort and features a different cast each season. But each season features a murder and the mystery that surrounds it. At this point, The White Lotus should really look into why so many guests die in its properties.

Succession
There is perhaps no other show as of late that show the utter ridiculousness when people get too much money and let it go to their brains. As biting, tense, and vulgar Succession can be, it’s also pretty hilarious if you’ve got a dark sense of humour. There’s no better example of rich people behaving badly than this show. Once you see “Boar on the Floor”, you’ll agree.

House of Cards
Rich powerful people behaving badly? Sure. But rich powerful people in government behaving badly? It’s a whole other level. House of Cards’ political machinations, backstabbings (sometimes literally), and sexcapades make for a horrid alternate reality for the US government. The things the Underwoods get up to are insane—and that’s why it’s hard to pry your eyes away from the screen.

Gossip Girl
The reason for the 207th bone in Deadpool’s body, Gossip Girl chronicles the Scandals of Serena van der Woodsen and friends. Being rich and privileged teenagers in New York City, they get up to a lot of things that cause a lot of problems and drama, especially when an anonymous blogger is following their every step and mishap. Young, dumb, and extremely wealthy make for great misadventures.

Dynasty
Based on the 1980 soap opera of the same name, Dynasty sees a family going against each other when the patriarch, Blake, announces his marriage to a mere employee in the family’s company. Shocked that her father would marry and let alone mingle with the peasants, his daughter, Fallon, comes up with a scheme to break them up, which backfires. And thus the drama starts.

90210
The whole 90210 franchise features young, wealthy, good-looking people and the drama they get into. The original 1990 show followed a group of friends in Beverly Hills High School while the 2008 show has a similar plot but now taking place in West Beverly High. Aside from the recent entry, the entire franchise is a soapy melodramatic take on these rich kids’ lives that’s entertaining to watch.
