The Miami Marlins and the Washington Nationals meet Saturday in MLB action from Nationals Park. Here’s a Washington Nationals vs Miami Marlins prediction. This will be the second installment in a three-Game series. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for the Game.

Miami Marlins Betting Preview

The Marlins played the New York Mets in their last series. Miami won the first installment of that set 4-2 but then took losses 10-4 and 3-2 in the remaining pair. On Friday in the opener versus the Nationals, the Marlins coughed up seven runs in the third inning during an 8-1 blowout loss. Starting pitcher Shaun Anderson gave up 10 hits for seven earned in 2.0 frames.

In the starter slot for the Saturday matchup the Marlins will send out Trevor Rogers. This year Rogers is 1-7 with a 5.37 ERA in 13 starts. He’s got 52 Ks in 62.0 innings. Rogers is 14-30 with a 4.34 ERA in 72 career starts.

Washington Nationals Betting Preview

Over on the Nationals’ side, they took on the Detroit Tigers this week. Washington did well in the first two Games of that series with wins 5-4 and 7-5. Thursday was a loss 7-2 however. In the Friday Game the Nats got 7.0 innings, five hits, one walk, one earned and 10 Ks from starter MacKenzie Gore.

It’ll be DJ Herz in the starter role for the Nationals on Saturday. So far this year Herz is 0-1 with a 6.48 ERA and eight Ks in 8.1 innings over the first two starts of his MLB career.

Washington Nationals vs Miami Marlins Prediction

I’ll stay with Miami. Rogers had a spotty start in a loss versus the Rangers on June 2, giving up four earned on six hits and two walks in 6.0 innings. In his last start however, Rogers bounced back well with 5.0 innings, one earned, two hits and four walks in a no-decision versus Cleveland. As for Herz, he’s coming off 4.1 innings and two earned versus the Braves.

On Friday in the opener matchup, the Marlins really only had the one bad inning. Miami didn’t get much on offense from anyone not named Tim Anderson (three hits; run), though. It’s going to take a better effort at the plate Saturday.
