Video: Celtic Loanee Scores European Goal after Midweek Revelations
Johnny Kenny has made headlines again, scoring a header to help Shamrock Rovers to a commanding 3-0 lead over Larne at half-time in their Europa Conference League clash.

The 21-year-old forward has been in fine form during his loan spell in the League of Ireland, but despite his impressive performances, Kenny has revealed that contact from Celtic has been minimal.
Kenny, who signed for Celtic in January 2022 as a teenager, has yet to make a first-team appearance for the Hoops. Despite now scoring 13 goals and providing three assists in 28 appearances this season, his communication with the Glasgow club, including Professional Player Pathway Manager Darren O’Dea, has been limited. Kenny expressed his frustration over the lack of engagement from Celtic during his loan spell.
As he nears the end of his loan, with Shamrock Rovers set to conclude their Europa Conference League campaign, Kenny will return to Glasgow later this year with over 18 months left on his Celtic contract. Given his standout performances, and now in Europe, the young centre-forward may yet have an opportunity to impress Brendan Rodgers and break into the first team.
It will be interesting to see what happens with the youngster, with the third striker role up for grabs.
